Barangay Palayan

Barangay Palayan is a small barangay in the municipality of Liliw, located in the province of Laguna, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Palayan had a population of 1,052. This made it the 13th largest of 33 barangays in Liliw by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palayan accounted for approximately 2.66% of the total population of Liliw, which stood at 39,491 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Palayan moving from 888 residents to 1,052 residents, an intercensal change of +18.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Palayan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Liliw is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Palayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
