Barangay Townsite

Barangay Townsite is a large barangay in the municipality of Limay, located in the province of Bataan, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Townsite had a population of 5,623. This made it the 7th largest of 12 barangays in Limay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Townsite accounted for approximately 7.18% of the total population of Limay, which stood at 78,272 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Townsite changed from 5,178 to 5,623, a shift of +8.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Limay. Barangay Townsite is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Limay is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Townsite, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bataan, which contains 237 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Townsite ranks 49th by 2020 population. Bataan is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
