Barangay Bagumbayan

Situated in Lupon, Davao Oriental, Barangay Bagumbayan is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagumbayan had a population of 5,764. This made it the 3rd largest of 21 barangays in Lupon by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagumbayan accounted for approximately 8.61% of the total population of Lupon, which stood at 66,979 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bagumbayan moving from 5,342 residents to 5,764 residents, an intercensal change of +7.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Bagumbayan is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Lupon is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagumbayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
