Barangay Dagami

Barangay Dagami is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Maasin, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dagami had a population of 2,161. This made it the 1st largest of 50 barangays in Maasin by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dagami accounted for approximately 5.62% of the total population of Maasin, which stood at 38,461 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Dagami moving from 2,044 residents to 2,161 residents, an intercensal change of +5.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Dagami is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Maasin is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dagami, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dagami ranks 229th by 2020 population.
