Barangay Liñagan Tacas

Barangay Liñagan Tacas is a very small barangay in the municipality of Maasin, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Liñagan Tacas had a population of 431. This made it the 39th largest of 50 barangays in Maasin by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Liñagan Tacas accounted for approximately 1.12% of the total population of Maasin, which stood at 38,461 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Liñagan Tacas changed from 414 to 431, a shift of +4.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Maasin. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Liñagan Tacas as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Maasin is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Liñagan Tacas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Liñagan Tacas ranks 1415th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
