Barangay Pispis

Situated in Maasin, Iloilo, Barangay Pispis is one of 50 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pispis had a population of 821. This made it the 21st largest of 50 barangays in Maasin by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pispis accounted for approximately 2.13% of the total population of Maasin, which stood at 38,461 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 769 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 821 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pispis is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
