Barangay Bulibulihan

Situated in Mabinay, Negros Oriental, Barangay Bulibulihan is one of 32 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bulibulihan had a population of 1,406. This made it the 26th largest of 32 barangays in Mabinay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bulibulihan accounted for approximately 1.69% of the total population of Mabinay, which stood at 82,953 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,422 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,406 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.1%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bulibulihan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mabinay is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bulibulihan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bulibulihan ranks 376th by 2020 population.
