Barangay San Isidro

Barangay San Isidro is a very small barangay in the municipality of Macrohon, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Isidro had a population of 357. This made it the 26th largest of 30 barangays in Macrohon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Isidro accounted for approximately 1.34% of the total population of Macrohon, which stood at 26,580 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Isidro moving from 352 residents to 357 residents, an intercensal change of +1.4%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Isidro as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Macrohon is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Isidro, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Southern Leyte, which contains 500 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Isidro ranks 422nd by 2020 population.
