Barangay Sindangan

Situated in Macrohon, Southern Leyte, Barangay Sindangan is one of 30 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sindangan had a population of 772. This made it the 16th largest of 30 barangays in Macrohon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sindangan accounted for approximately 2.90% of the total population of Macrohon, which stood at 26,580 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sindangan moving from 775 residents to 772 residents, an intercensal change of -0.4%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sindangan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Macrohon is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sindangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
