Barangay Poblacion

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion is one of the administrative divisions of Madalag in Aklan, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 1,814. This made it the 2nd largest of 25 barangays in Madalag by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 9.60% of the total population of Madalag, which stood at 18,890 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 1,775 residents to 1,814 residents, an intercensal change of +2.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Madalag is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
