Barangay Santo Niño

Barangay Santo Niño is a small barangay in the municipality of Magallanes, located in the province of Agusan Del Norte, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santo Niño had a population of 1,864. This made it the 5th largest of 8 barangays in Magallanes by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Niño accounted for approximately 8.36% of the total population of Magallanes, which stood at 22,293 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,663 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,864 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +12.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santo Niño is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magallanes is a municipality comprising 8 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Niño, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
