Barangay San Miguel

Situated in Magarao, Camarines Sur, Barangay San Miguel is one of 15 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Miguel had a population of 752. This made it the 13th largest of 15 barangays in Magarao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Miguel accounted for approximately 2.81% of the total population of Magarao, which stood at 26,742 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Miguel changed from 864 to 752, a shift of -13.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Magarao. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Miguel as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Magarao is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Miguel, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
