Barangay Mabuhay

Situated in Mahaplag, Leyte, Barangay Mabuhay is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mabuhay had a population of 725. This made it the 16th largest of 28 barangays in Mahaplag by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mabuhay accounted for approximately 2.60% of the total population of Mahaplag, which stood at 27,865 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mabuhay moving from 740 residents to 725 residents, an intercensal change of -2.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mabuhay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
