Barangay Loqueb Sur

Barangay Loqueb Sur is a small barangay in the municipality of Malasiqui, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Loqueb Sur had a population of 1,761. This made it the 33rd largest of 73 barangays in Malasiqui by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Loqueb Sur accounted for approximately 1.23% of the total population of Malasiqui, which stood at 143,094 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,549 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,761 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Loqueb Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Malasiqui is a municipality comprising 73 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Loqueb Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pangasinan, which contains 1,364 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Loqueb Sur ranks 753rd by 2020 population.
