Barangay Palong

Barangay Palong is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Malasiqui, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Palong had a population of 2,650. This made it the 17th largest of 73 barangays in Malasiqui by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palong accounted for approximately 1.85% of the total population of Malasiqui, which stood at 143,094 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Palong moving from 2,298 residents to 2,650 residents, an intercensal change of +15.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Palong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Malasiqui is a municipality comprising 73 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Palong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
