Barangay Payar

Barangay Payar is a small barangay in the municipality of Malasiqui, located in the province of Pangasinan, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Payar had a population of 1,649. This made it the 40th largest of 73 barangays in Malasiqui by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Payar accounted for approximately 1.15% of the total population of Malasiqui, which stood at 143,094 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Payar moving from 1,371 residents to 1,649 residents, an intercensal change of +20.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Payar is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
