Barangay Rosario

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Rosario is one of the administrative divisions of Malinao in Aklan, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Rosario had a population of 2,070. This made it the 1st largest of 23 barangays in Malinao by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Rosario accounted for approximately 8.44% of the total population of Malinao, which stood at 24,517 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Rosario moving from 1,889 residents to 2,070 residents, an intercensal change of +9.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Rosario is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Malinao is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Rosario, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Aklan, which contains 327 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Rosario ranks 86th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
