Barangay San Roque

Barangay San Roque is a small barangay in the municipality of Malinao, located in the province of Aklan, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Roque had a population of 1,485. This made it the 6th largest of 23 barangays in Malinao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Roque accounted for approximately 6.06% of the total population of Malinao, which stood at 24,517 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Roque moving from 1,406 residents to 1,485 residents, an intercensal change of +5.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay San Roque is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
