Barangay Tigpalas

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Tigpalas is one of the administrative divisions of Malinao in Aklan, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tigpalas had a population of 410. This made it the 21st largest of 23 barangays in Malinao by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tigpalas accounted for approximately 1.67% of the total population of Malinao, which stood at 24,517 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tigpalas moving from 382 residents to 410 residents, an intercensal change of +7.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tigpalas is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Malinao is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tigpalas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
