Barangay Tagoytoy

Barangay Tagoytoy is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Malinao, located in the province of Albay, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tagoytoy had a population of 2,367. This made it the 4th largest of 29 barangays in Malinao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tagoytoy accounted for approximately 4.99% of the total population of Malinao, which stood at 47,395 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tagoytoy changed from 2,323 to 2,367, a shift of +1.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Malinao. Barangay Tagoytoy is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Malinao is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tagoytoy, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
