Barangay Paco

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Paco is one of the administrative divisions of Mankayan in Benguet, CAR, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Paco had a population of 4,844. This made it the 2nd largest of 12 barangays in Mankayan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Paco accounted for approximately 13.01% of the total population of Mankayan, which stood at 37,233 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 5,744 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,844 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -15.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Paco is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Mankayan is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Paco, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Benguet, which contains 269 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Paco ranks 28th by 2020 population. Benguet is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Barangay Paco is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
