Barangay Siljagon

Barangay Siljagon is a small barangay in the municipality of Mapanas, located in the province of Northern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Siljagon had a population of 1,631. This made it the 3rd largest of 13 barangays in Mapanas by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Siljagon accounted for approximately 11.46% of the total population of Mapanas, which stood at 14,234 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Siljagon moving from 1,395 residents to 1,631 residents, an intercensal change of +16.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Siljagon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
