Barangay Malobago

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Malobago is one of the administrative divisions of Maslog in Eastern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Malobago had a population of 133. This made it the 12th largest of 12 barangays in Maslog by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malobago accounted for approximately 2.43% of the total population of Maslog, which stood at 5,463 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 113 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 133 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +17.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Malobago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Maslog is a municipality comprising 12 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malobago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Malobago ranks 581st by 2020 population. Eastern Samar is classified as a 2nd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections.
