Barangay Malobago

Barangay Malobago is a small barangay in the municipality of Maydolong, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Malobago had a population of 504. This made it the 14th largest of 20 barangays in Maydolong by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Malobago accounted for approximately 3.29% of the total population of Maydolong, which stood at 15,314 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Malobago moving from 480 residents to 504 residents, an intercensal change of +5.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Malobago as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Maydolong is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Malobago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
