Barangay Lalawigan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Lalawigan is one of the administrative divisions of Mercedes in Camarines Norte, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lalawigan had a population of 1,666. This made it the 13th largest of 26 barangays in Mercedes by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lalawigan accounted for approximately 3.01% of the total population of Mercedes, which stood at 55,334 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Lalawigan changed from 1,645 to 1,666, a shift of +1.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Mercedes. Barangay Lalawigan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mercedes is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lalawigan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
