Barangay San Roque

Barangay San Roque forms part of Mercedes, a municipality in Camarines Norte, and is classified as a large barangay.

This made it the 1st largest of 26 barangays in Mercedes by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. The barangay recorded 7,448 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 7,523 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.0%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Roque as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Mercedes is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Roque, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Norte, which contains 282 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Roque ranks 6th by 2020 population.
