Barangay Bagongbong

Barangay Bagongbong is a small barangay in the municipality of Minalabac, located in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagongbong had a population of 987. This made it the 23rd largest of 25 barangays in Minalabac by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagongbong accounted for approximately 1.83% of the total population of Minalabac, which stood at 53,981 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,109 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 987 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -11.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagongbong as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Minalabac is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagongbong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bagongbong ranks 728th by 2020 population.
