Barangay Pakigne

Situated in Minglanilla, Cebu, Barangay Pakigne is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pakigne had a population of 14,351. This made it the 3rd largest of 19 barangays in Minglanilla by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pakigne accounted for approximately 9.50% of the total population of Minglanilla, which stood at 151,002 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 12,644 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 14,351 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pakigne as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Minglanilla is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pakigne, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pakigne ranks 24th by 2020 population. Cebu is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
