Barangay Poblacion East

Barangay Poblacion East is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Moalboal, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion East had a population of 2,911. This made it the 4th largest of 15 barangays in Moalboal by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion East accounted for approximately 7.88% of the total population of Moalboal, which stood at 36,930 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,521 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,911 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Poblacion East is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Moalboal is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
