Barangay New Calape

Situated in Montevista, Davao De Oro, Barangay New Calape is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay New Calape had a population of 1,061. This made it the 16th largest of 20 barangays in Montevista by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Calape accounted for approximately 2.28% of the total population of Montevista, which stood at 46,558 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Calape changed from 1,074 to 1,061, a shift of -1.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Montevista. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay New Calape as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Montevista is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay New Calape, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
