Barangay Pantaon

Situated in Munai, Lanao Del Norte, Barangay Pantaon is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pantaon had a population of 641. This made it the 25th largest of 26 barangays in Munai by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pantaon accounted for approximately 1.83% of the total population of Munai, which stood at 35,020 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 588 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 641 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pantaon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Munai is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pantaon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Lanao Del Norte, which contains 506 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pantaon ranks 395th by 2020 population.
