Barangay Mainit

Situated in Nabunturan, Davao De Oro, Barangay Mainit is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mainit had a population of 8,271. This made it the 2nd largest of 28 barangays in Nabunturan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mainit accounted for approximately 9.81% of the total population of Nabunturan, which stood at 84,340 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mainit changed from 9,905 to 8,271, a shift of -16.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Nabunturan. Barangay Mainit is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Nabunturan is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mainit, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao De Oro, which contains 237 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mainit ranks 15th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
