Barangay Munting Indan

Barangay Munting Indan is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Nasugbu, located in the province of Batangas, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Munting Indan had a population of 2,656. This made it the 20th largest of 42 barangays in Nasugbu by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Munting Indan accounted for approximately 1.95% of the total population of Nasugbu, which stood at 136,524 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 3,141 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,656 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -15.4%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Munting Indan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Nasugbu is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Munting Indan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Batangas, which contains 1,078 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Munting Indan ranks 355th by 2020 population. Batangas is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
