Barangay Gamao

Barangay Gamao is a small barangay in the municipality of Naujan, located in the province of Oriental Mindoro, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Gamao had a population of 964. This made it the 52nd largest of 70 barangays in Naujan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gamao accounted for approximately 0.88% of the total population of Naujan, which stood at 109,587 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Gamao moving from 991 residents to 964 residents, an intercensal change of -2.7%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Gamao as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Naujan is a municipality comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Gamao, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
