Barangay Melgar A

Barangay Melgar A is a small barangay in the municipality of Naujan, located in the province of Oriental Mindoro, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Melgar A had a population of 1,670. This made it the 25th largest of 70 barangays in Naujan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Melgar A accounted for approximately 1.52% of the total population of Naujan, which stood at 109,587 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Melgar A changed from 1,617 to 1,670, a shift of +3.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Naujan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Melgar A as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
