Barangay Montemayor

Situated in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, Barangay Montemayor is one of 70 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Montemayor had a population of 592. This made it the 66th largest of 70 barangays in Naujan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Montemayor accounted for approximately 0.54% of the total population of Naujan, which stood at 109,587 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Montemayor changed from 709 to 592, a shift of -16.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Naujan. Barangay Montemayor is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Naujan is a municipality comprising 70 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Montemayor, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
