Barangay Santa Maria

Barangay Santa Maria is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Naujan, located in the province of Oriental Mindoro, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Maria had a population of 3,178. This made it the 3rd largest of 70 barangays in Naujan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Maria accounted for approximately 2.90% of the total population of Naujan, which stood at 109,587 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Santa Maria moving from 3,158 residents to 3,178 residents, an intercensal change of +0.6%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Maria as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
