Situated in New Lucena, Iloilo, Barangay Bita-og Gaja is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bita-og Gaja had a population of 811. This made it the 12th largest of 21 barangays in New Lucena by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bita-og Gaja accounted for approximately 3.34% of the total population of New Lucena, which stood at 24,314 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 781 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 811 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Bita-og Gaja is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

New Lucena is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bita-og Gaja, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
