Barangay Alegria

Barangay Alegria is a small barangay in the city of Ormoc City, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alegria had a population of 977. This made it the 69th largest of 110 barangays in Ormoc City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Alegria accounted for approximately 0.42% of the total population of Ormoc City, which stood at 230,998 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alegria moving from 1,426 residents to 977 residents, an intercensal change of -31.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alegria as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
