Barangay Santo Rosario

Barangay Santo Rosario is a small barangay in the municipality of Padre Burgos, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santo Rosario had a population of 894. This made it the 8th largest of 11 barangays in Padre Burgos by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Rosario accounted for approximately 8.01% of the total population of Padre Burgos, which stood at 11,159 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 779 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 894 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santo Rosario is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Padre Burgos is a municipality comprising 11 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Rosario, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Southern Leyte, which contains 500 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santo Rosario ranks 179th by 2020 population.
