Situated in Pagbilao, Quezon, Barangay Ilayang Polo is one of 27 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Ilayang Polo had a population of 2,503. This made it the 11th largest of 27 barangays in Pagbilao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ilayang Polo accounted for approximately 3.18% of the total population of Pagbilao, which stood at 78,700 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,105 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,503 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +18.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Ilayang Polo as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
