Barangay Osmeña

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Osmeña is one of the administrative divisions of Palapag in Northern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Osmeña had a population of 1,176. This made it the 12th largest of 32 barangays in Palapag by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Osmeña accounted for approximately 3.46% of the total population of Palapag, which stood at 34,034 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Osmeña moving from 1,265 residents to 1,176 residents, an intercensal change of -7.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Osmeña as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Palapag is a municipality comprising 32 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Osmeña, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
