Barangay Salaza

Barangay Salaza is a large barangay in the municipality of Palauig, located in the province of Zambales, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salaza had a population of 5,130. This made it the 2nd largest of 19 barangays in Palauig by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salaza accounted for approximately 12.89% of the total population of Palauig, which stood at 39,784 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salaza moving from 4,126 residents to 5,130 residents, an intercensal change of +24.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Salaza is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Palauig is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salaza, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
