Barangay Poblacion Ilawod

Barangay Poblacion Ilawod is a small barangay in the municipality of Panay, located in the province of Capiz, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion Ilawod had a population of 501. This made it the 37th largest of 42 barangays in Panay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod accounted for approximately 1.02% of the total population of Panay, which stood at 48,890 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod changed from 579 to 501, a shift of -13.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Panay. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion Ilawod as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Panay is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
