This made it the 1st largest of 42 barangays in Panay by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya changed from 1,501 to 3,440, a shift of +129.2% over the five-year period.
