Barangay Matampay

Barangay Matampay is a small barangay in the municipality of Pantao Ragat, located in the province of Lanao Del Norte, in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Matampay had a population of 1,215. This made it the 17th largest of 20 barangays in Pantao Ragat by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Matampay accounted for approximately 4.02% of the total population of Pantao Ragat, which stood at 30,247 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Matampay moving from 1,186 residents to 1,215 residents, an intercensal change of +2.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Matampay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pantao Ragat is a municipality comprising 20 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Matampay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
