Barangay Pantao-Marug

Situated in Pantar, Lanao Del Norte, Barangay Pantao-Marug is one of 21 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pantao-Marug had a population of 744. This made it the 18th largest of 21 barangays in Pantar by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pantao-Marug accounted for approximately 2.80% of the total population of Pantar, which stood at 26,599 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pantao-Marug changed from 652 to 744, a shift of +14.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Pantar. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pantao-Marug as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pantar is a municipality comprising 21 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pantao-Marug, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
