Barangay Guintolan

Barangay Guintolan is a small barangay in the municipality of Payao, located in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Guintolan had a population of 1,850. This made it the 5th largest of 29 barangays in Payao by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guintolan accounted for approximately 5.29% of the total population of Payao, which stood at 34,952 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Guintolan moving from 1,376 residents to 1,850 residents, an intercensal change of +34.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Guintolan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
