Barangay Rosario

Situated in Pilar, Capiz, Barangay Rosario is one of 24 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Rosario had a population of 1,296. This made it the 17th largest of 24 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Rosario accounted for approximately 2.75% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 47,100 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Rosario changed from 1,190 to 1,296, a shift of +8.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Pilar. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Rosario as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Rosario, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Capiz, which contains 473 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Rosario ranks 231st by 2020 population.
