Barangay San Roque

Barangay San Roque is a small barangay in the municipality of Pintuyan, located in the province of Southern Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Roque had a population of 559. This made it the 7th largest of 23 barangays in Pintuyan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Roque accounted for approximately 5.48% of the total population of Pintuyan, which stood at 10,202 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Roque moving from 585 residents to 559 residents, an intercensal change of -4.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Roque as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pintuyan is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Roque, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
